Here are examples of my painted gourds. I use acrylic paint and finish them up with a coating of lacquer spray.

Some of my ideas for these gourds are inspired by the pottery of the Southwest. Others come from the Sonoran desert wildlife such as the Gambel’s Quail. My years of gardening and floral drawings also find a place in many of the gourd “vases”.
